Does caffeine actually help your game, or does it just make you impatient?

I was just pouring my third cup of coffee and I paused thinking. Does caffeine even help or it just makes a person jittery? I feel very sharp for the first one hour I take it, then I start rushing to making decisions with no patience.
That could be a grave mistake. What's your take on this?

It helps because I need the energy for a long grind, especially if I start to get drowsy.

I can't say about other caffeine sources but coffee does actually help. Coffee stimulates your brain and makes you alert. I can think clearly when I am drinking coffee. Just don't add a lot of sugar because too much sugar will deplete your energy level fast.
