Does the time of day affect how much a slot pays out?

I’ve been wondering if these slot machines actually behave differently at certain times. Maybe it's a psychological thing, I am still trying to find that out. My cousin believes early morning slots pay better because servers are less busy. But funny enough, one of my biggest wins happened around 3:17am during one sleepless hot night.
