Every time I’ve lost my bankroll, it was because I broke my bankroll management rules at some point. It took several difficult lessons before I finally built the discipline to stick to what I’m trying to do and not deviate from my strategy.

Ever since I committed to bankroll management and focused on grinding consistently in every game, my results have improved significantly. Sticking to my rules has also helped build better habits that make me play better overall.

Have you ever lost your entire bankroll while actually sticking to your bankroll management rules?

Losing your bankroll even when you follow rules can still happen. That's the game to be honest. But the truth is that if you stick to discipline, you can recover. The real problem is when you break your own rules out of frustration. That one is an instant downfall.

Yeah, I have lost my bankroll even when I stayed with my own bankroll rules. Sometimes rules do not work as planned. Sometimes when you are deeply involved into the game, you start making emotional decision.

I like to take breaks, even 10–15 minutes can do a lot for the mind. Sometimes I’ll sit out in an MTT if I’ve had a couple of tough hands, just to reset and regroup. I always try to focus on controlling my emotions because I know that when I’m playing my best, I tend to make good decisions, and the results usually follow.

Yeah, it happens frequently. I Flfollow my rules perfectly—l, 40 buy-ins, stop-losses, the whole thing. Still I sometimes go bust during a brutal downswing. That's poker though. Rules lower your risk but don't eliminate it. Anyone who says different hasn't played enough hands.

Even with solid bankroll management, players can still lose through prolonged variance. So, yes, this happens to me sometimes. It happens usually when I hit an extended downswing. But I try to come back by moving down in stakes, and rebuild gradually.
