I’ve received advice from players through private messages, and one person even offered to coach me for free. It didn’t work out, though, they wanted me to focus exclusively on heads-up sit-and-gos and stop playing tournaments altogether. I believe I’m a strong online tournament player, while they argued that tournaments aren’t profitable in the long run.

In the end, I decided it was best for me to study on my own and continue improving my game without a coach.

What about you, have you ever worked with a poker coach to improve your game?

I haven't worked with a poker coach, I don't think we have any coaches here. GenerallyI learn from friends and family, some if whom are really good at it.

I tried one coach before, it wasn't working as I expected. At some point, I just stepped back. Sometimes self-learning is better, especially when you know what works for you. Not every advice will fit your style. Coaching is good, but it's not by force to follow everything the coach says.

I havent really been coached as such or part of a team but i do have a group of poker playing friends that are ALOT better than me and would always help if i had a serious question/s. i know my place in the poker eco system but hope to move up stakes in the future with or without a coach. just need to be careful with info you absorb cos some strategys dont work into specific game trees

I haven't been coached, I have never tried to find a coach, I haven' t taken poker too seriously in a way that I have tried learning it from expert. However, I do want to perfect my skills and I learn from others, mostly from those who are better than me.

I can't say that I have ever had to use a poker coach to help me improve my game when it came to playing poker. I had always played either under demo accounts or against AI to help me learn and become a better player when it came to playing poker.
