What's your opinion on players that hit and run?

Hit and Run: When a player doubles up, and leaves a cash game almost immediately after winning the hand.

I think they are more responsible than players that want to empty their resources before quitting. There is nothing like knowing your limits and endurance! The chances of losing is very high when you play for long hours! Psychological problems like tilt and mental exhaustion may effect one's ability to play with all concentration.

I don't like hit and run poker players. They always disrupt the flow of the table. And I think it is one of the worst etiquette in poker. When you win and leave, it is a sign that you are a selfish poker player and I would never play against such a poker player ever again.

I would say that these are far smarter players, and they know when it is time to stop and walk away.

I can understand why those who are playing against the player who does a hit and run would be a little frustrated, but it could be their only way to prevent themselves from going too far and losing it all.

When players hit and run in poker, they have not actually broken any rules. But I personally detest such kinds of poker players. The flow of the game is broken with such behavior. Staying around and playing a little shows respect for the table and other players.

It's typically bad etiquette in poker to leave in a cash game immediately after you win a hand. I don't play cash games anymore, but I've done it myself(live) in the past.

It's indeed a bad etiquette in poker to leave in a cash game immediately after you win a hand but it's better to run with your win than to lose it staying and player longer. Personally, I don't have any problem with any player doing that, they are more interested in securing their bankroll.

There are different hit and run instances IMO. The player that sits down, bets go in,and then he/she goes all in and gets calls, wins, and then leaves. Could be their whole bankroll, maybe tried to double up for a buyin tournament, or something came up. This is different from the player that has been sitting at a table and then only a couple players there , all in pot, and he sucks out on the river and wins, and THEN leaves and the players cannot even try to win their money back. That is something I am not fond of, they can just play a coupld more rounds and fold if they want to but not just run off. But they have the right if they want but thats why I keep notes so I can remember them kind.

If the goal is to be profitable and a player makes the profit they were looking for and leaves the table, that is why they play. I am not one to do this, but I get it when it happens. I look at it the same as playing in the micro AIOF games and a player banks the profit on each win, thus removing the money from the table. It annoys me, but it is a part of the strategy overall.

If you are just looking forward to win, I think hit run is a good strategy. You cannot always be on winning side, so once you wins some amount, leaving the table is perfectly fine. It certainly disrupts other players but I don't think they should complain about this. people should have choices to leave the table when ever they want.

Depends on the situation, I've sat at live tables and have been carddead for hours, whenever I had a chance I'd double up and then reevaluate my position, as to whether I'd stay at the table.
