HOUSTON (AP) — According to a source familiar with the matter, Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun have both finalized contract extensions with the Houston Rockets, as reported on Monday.
Green, who was selected second overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, has secured a three-year extension worth $106 million. Meanwhile, Sengun, picked 16th in the same draft class, has signed a five-year extension valued at $185 million.
The details of the agreement were shared with The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity, as the contracts have yet to be officially announced. ESPN was the first to break the news.
Both players are entering the final years of their rookie contracts. Green’s new deal will take effect next season and includes a player option for the third year, allowing him the choice to become a free agent before the 2027-28 season. Sengun’s extension will also start next season and features a player option for the fifth year in 2029-30.
