This one depends on the site you are using. I remember using one unlicensed casino back then, I almost cry when I couldn’t withdraw my winnings . Since then, I don't usually play on any site that doesn't have a license from UKGC or MGA. Those ones are more strict, and your money is safe with them.
 
casino sites that are registered and have acquired licensing are considered more trust worthy, they are likely to attract more players. Unlicensed sites usually mean sites that have not follower regulations for operation.
