How Do You Structure Your Poker Study Sessions?

What does a typical study session look like for you, and how often do you actually study vs play?

I don’t have a structured session for studying poker. I sometimes watch tutorials learn tips and tricks. I also watch others play and learn from them.

Me too. I do not dedicate myself to learn poker and master the skills, however, once in a while I watch and read tutorials and tips and tricks, especially before playing the game

My study sessions are not too formal. some days I watch some strategy videos, another day I review one or two difficult hands that confused me. I don't really believe that playing nonstop automatically means improvement. Sometimes when you stop to think helps more.

I try to keep my study sessions focused rather than cramming everything into one sitting. A typical session for me looks something like this:

• Review hands I played recently, especially the ones I was unsure about.
• Analyze any mistakes and think about what I could have done differently.
• Spend some time studying a specific topic, like preflop ranges, c-betting, or river decisions.
• Watch a training video or read strategy content.
• Finish with a short session at the tables to apply what I just learned.

I usually study for around 30–60 minutes at a time. I'd rather have shorter, consistent sessions a few times a week than one long session where I stop retaining information.
