I've been watching different poker videos and everybody has different opinions. One coach says keep it's small. Another says increase it depending on the table. So, who do I believe? I think beginners overthink this part too much. Before you even settle on one size, another situation has already appeared. The truth is the poker will continue to teach you every now and then.

I don't think there's one perfect size for every situation, but I usually keep my opening raises consistent. Around 2.5 to 3 big blinds works well in many cash games, then I adjust depending on the table, position, and how the other players are reacting.

I usually stick to about 3 big blinds in most situations. It's simple, easy to remember, and often gets the job done. If the table is calling too much, I might raise a little bigger, but I try not to overcomplicate it.
