Generally speaking, you need to be of legal age to play poker, which is most of the time 18 years. However, in home games there are no restrictions. Even in online casino, you can easily lie about your age if there are no requirements for KYC. How young do you think is too young to play poker?

I think if you have a job and can manage your finances responsibly, you're mature enough to play poker regardless of age.

I personally feel that when it comes to playing things like poker, especially if you are playing poker for real money and gambling, you need to be making your own money and be able to manage your finances before you even consider playing poker, especially for money.

In the UK, it is illegal to gamble under the age of 18 years old, but I know that people younger than 18 play poker for fun, some of whom are taught by their parents, which I don't feel is a bad thing if they are interested in poker and want to learn.
