Some players rely heavily on tracking software and HUDs or heads up displays, whereas others prefer making decisions without extra statistics. Do you rely on tracking software or HUDs? In case you have played both ways, which approach do you enjoy more? Do you think HUDs give you an advantage?

I have played without HUD most times and honestly i enjoy relying on my observation more. Statistics are useful no doubt, especially for serious grinders, but sometimes too much of data can make you forget the real side of the game.

No HUD for me. If I can see stats like VPIP above my opponents' screen names, I tend to rely on them too much.

I prefer playing without HUDs. I enjoy paying attention to the action, observing betting patterns, and making decisions based on what I've seen at the table. HUDs can certainly provide useful information and an advantage for players who know how to use them, but I find the game more enjoyable without relying on extra statistics.

i prefere to take notes ,

A VPIP of 25% Doesn't Tell You Much

Imagine your HUD shows that an opponent has a VPIP of 25%. That number alone doesn't tell you which hands they play from each position.

HUD statistics cannot tell you:

  • Which hands an opponent opens from Early, Middle, or Late Position.
  • Which hands they call a 3-Bet with.
  • Which hands they 4-Bet or shove all-in.
  • Whether they defend the blinds too wide.
  • Whether they slow-play premium hands.
  • Which hands they bluff on the Turn or River.
  • Which hands reach showdown.
