I was watching one replay this afternoon and it made me wonder. Now, if you knew that your hand was very strong, do you just fire big immediately or you slow down hoping another players enters the trap?

Poker can really test your patience more than people think because sometimes, greed could disguise as strategy.

Frankly speaking, if I have the best possible hand I bet right away. I want to intimidate people so that they can fold and I can win. I think trying to trap other people can be risky because they also might have good hand.

I usually prefer betting for value rather than getting too fancy with traps. Trying to trap can backfire if everyone checks behind. If I have the best possible hand, I'd rather start building the pot and let my opponents decide whether they want to continue.

I only try to trap if I think my opponent is likely to bet for me. Otherwise, I'd rather make a value bet and start building the pot. In most situations, getting paid consistently is better than hoping someone walks into a trap.

there is alot of variables for me like stage of mtt and what kind of opponent im against, no 2 hands play the same so sometimes check sometimes bet for me, depends on your comfort level/skill too i think. i love playing post flop though

I usually slow-play premium hands, but it depends on my position and the action around me. I adjust my bet sizing to try to extract the maximum value.

That said, it's generally a bad habit to play premium hands too differently from the rest of your range. Good players can pick up on betting patterns, so it's important to stay as balanced and unpredictable as possible.

That is very true. I’ve seen it many times and I’ve also played it both ways. I try to gauge the players I’m up against this is where knowing you’re opponent count the most. Always remember it ain’t over till the river.
