Many people think that fishing can be considered a sport. You can compete with others when it comes to catching fishes. However, on the other hand, many people believe that fishing is rather a recreational activity and it is not a sport. What do you think?

Fishing is sport to me. Just because it doesn't require running up and down, doesn't mean it's easy. I once followed my uncle to go fishing and I nearly fainted from boredom and sun. It takes skill, timing, calmness. It also needs mental strength too.

I think that it could be considered a sport because it requires you to compete with others. This is why it is considered a sport by many people. Having said that, it does not require a lots of physical activity.

Fishing has been recognized as a sport by Global Association of International Sports. Fishing requires skills, techniques, and physical work, so it is certainly a sport.

I would consider fishing a sport. There's a lot of folks that compete and catch Fish for trophies, awards, and the like.

Fishing is a trained sport, so to say as well.

I guess that fishing is considered both a sport and a recreational activity as well. In case, I fishing does not require a competition, then it may not be considered a sport.

If we are talking about fishing being recognised as sports, then the answer is yes. Fishing is a sports, although I know that in some other parts of the world, they don't recognise it as one.

I am not sure about competitions being held in regards to fishing. It could be possible that fishing competitions night be held in certain places and winners might even be given a price as well however, this has not happened in my country yet.

As long as there is a world federation that is more focused on running a competition for fishing, I will say that it is a sport that should be recognised. It doesn't have to be popular in most places to be recognised as a sport.

All sports are actually recreational activities. Even if you are not playing competitively, that does not mean they lose their "sports" factor.

There are so many unrecognised sports all over the world which most people are not aware of. Yesterday, I came across one which was hips whining competition. Have you ever heard anything like that?

Sports are generally considered a competition. You tend to complete with the other. However, not all competition is considered sports. So, the definition of a sport coukd vary. For me, a sport is a physical activity that carries the element of competition.

I don't even know how to fish. I wouldn't consider it a sports by the way because how does it qualify to be one? I can't think of it.
