Jon Jones has been avoiding the fight for sometime now. He recently asked for a 6 month training camp after the contract is signed. I think he's looking for excuses not to fight Tom Aspinall, but I still do have hope the fight happens.

Do you think they'll fight in 2025 for the heavyweight championship in the UFC?

Jon Jones has officially made an announcement regarding his retirement.

Today, I’m officially announcing my retirement from the UFC. This decision comes after a lot of reflection, and I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the journey I’ve experienced over the years.

From the first time I stepped into the Octagon, my goal was to push the boundaries of what was possible in this sport. Becoming the youngest UFC champion in history, defending my title against some of the best fighters in the world, and sharing unforgettable moments with fans across the globe—these are memories I’ll cherish forever. I’ve faced incredible highs and some tough lows, but every challenge has taught me something valuable and made me stronger, both as a fighter and as a person.

I want to thank the UFC, Dana, Hunter, Lorenzo, God, my family, coaches, teammates, and all the fans who have stood by me through every chapter. Your unwavering support and belief in me have been my foundation. To my fellow fighters, thank you for bringing out the best in me and for the respect we’ve shared inside and outside the cage.

As I close this chapter of my life, I look forward to new opportunities and challenges ahead. MMA will always be a part of who I am, and I’m excited to see how I can continue to contribute to the sport and inspire others in new ways. I wish he would've fought once more. I think avoiding the Tom Aspinal fight will taint his legacy a bit.

He might come back one day as seen with other fighters, but he probably wants some rest and to chill away from the industry for a bit.

It is better for Jon Jones to retire than to face Tom Aspinal. Tom Aspinal is a very dangerous fighter and it will be a disgrace that Jones will be knocked out by that beast. Jones knows he will not stand the Tom Aspinal and the best way of escaping it is by using retirement as excuse. Boxing is not a child's play and only the boxer knows what a punch is! Jon Jones have escaped with his life!

Jon Jones don't want Aspinal to destroy his record. Jones have very impressive results with no defeat except one controversial ruling in favor of Ignacio. He is undisputed champion both in lightweight and heavyweight categories! I think he want to go home with his record intact. I think he is a wise dude!

I only think that's partly true. Dana White is known to underpay fighters, and I think that has a lot to do it.

It may be true that Dana White use to underpay fighters but it is likely not the case here because such fight comes with a lot of endorsements from a lot of entertainment companies! Some of the endorsements may rival what Dana White will give Jones. I don't think is issue of money but fear of defeat.
