Do you think Poker is luck or skill? Well, I believe you need to be a little bit of lucky but Poker is basically a card game where you need skills to play. Since it is skilled based game, you are placed at better position to win money if you are very skilled at playing poker. If you can understand the math behind Poker, you can improve your Poker skills.

To me chess players are very good players on poker

With luck and skill

70% skill 30% luck. Luck is always apart of the game, but more skilled players usually only lose when they get unlucky.

Bad beats, variance, and how you handle the swings in poker also plays a part to how well you do long term.

You will definitely need more skills than luck before you can be successful in playing poker. I can admit that luck might play a role in your winning but you cannot depend on luck 100% to succeed.

Poker is 100% luck. Just ship it in when you feel like it. You'll probably win. Not sure there is any math of any kind involved.

Mixture of both, you need the luck to get the right cards, hope others don't and have the skill to read people and play right.

I believe that luck and skill are two things that go hand in hand when it comes to poker games. However, skills is very important. Someone with zero skills in poker would definitely not win in a table where professional poker players are present.

I found that, to be a good poker player, one has to be lucky, as well as talented. To master the game, you need to engage in it repetitively and apply some techniques in your play. It takes luck to get you to the top and skill to stay there. You feel me?

Does it really take luck to get you to the top? So are you saying those top poker players got there only because they were lucky?

I think a lot of it is luck, especially in casinos.

Most casino games are developed to give the house the advantage over the player.

But it's the only way they stay in business!

Casinos are really for entertainment more than anything.

of course, we all know that luck is a very big part of the casino games. This is because the house usually has an edge. But there are some games that needs skills to win too. Typical examples are poker and blackjack.

Luck is a big part of casino games, but poker you're playing against real players so skill is a factor, and you're not playing against the house, and the casino/poker room collects a fee/rake from every game, so the house always wins.

Of course poker is a game of skill, but a lot of it also depends on luck too. It is true that even a good player may not be lucky at times But I think that skill will make you triumph over time.
