With tougher player pools online and a slower pace live, I go back and forth on which format is more profitable long term. Live feels softer, but online sharpens your skills faster. If you had to focus on one for the next year, which would you choose and why?

I think I prefer online. Based on my experience, the edge you get is so huge. Live is more psychological and it needs more patience too.

The “real edge” depends on the player pool and how well you adapt, but today there are clear differences.
Online poker is tougher overall because the player base is more skilled, hands move faster, and data-driven play is more common.
Live poker, especially in casinos, usually offers softer competition. Players tend to be more emotional, play fewer hands, and make more predictable mistakes.

I think the edge depends on context. Online games feel tougher with stronger, more studied players, while live poker often has softer competition and more emotional mistakes. I’ve found online improves my skill faster, but live games can be more profitable.
