Self awareness and reading other players, both are important to become successful in poker. However, when I compare both I give more importance to self awareness. Since poker is hugely depended on how you play, I trust self judgement more

People don't know that reading yourself is more important than reading your opponents . If you don't understand your own emotions, habits and weaknesses, every read on somebody else becomes unreliable and it could even be fake.

I think reading myself is actually more important. If I'm tired, frustrated, or distracted, I'm much more likely to misread other players. Knowing my own mindset helps me make better decisions and recognize when it's time to take a break.

I think self-awareness is even more important. If you can't recognize when you're tilted, distracted, or playing too emotionally, it doesn't matter how well you read other players. Managing your own decisions is the foundation of good poker.
