Should dealers be allowed to play at casinos when off work?

I'm not sure if this is a rule at all casino's, but I know if your a dealer at Casino Niagara/Fallsview you're not allowed to play in any poker games at the casino.

Do you agree with this rule or should dealers be allowed to play on their free time?

Nah, I think it’s not allowed but I don’t own a casino

I think it makes sense to prevent any potential conflicts of interest or unfair advantages. But, at the same time, it's a bit tough since these dealers are often avid gamblers themselves. Maybe a more flexible approach, like having separate, designated times for them to play, could work? On online gambling sites nz, employees don’t usually face these restrictions, so it’s interesting to see how different regulations impact the industry. What do you all think?

There are so many checks and balances, such as the first level being the floor boss, all the way to the 100s of security cameras.

I don't see an issue with dealers playing in their own casinos, because it's not just their job on the line if they cheat, but it goes uphill which incentivizes everyone in the chain to do their job, which is essentially loss prevention.

I think most probably don't want to, lol.

But I don't see why they can't. Many players are at the same level of advanced playing as the dealers, some are even better than them and we of course allow them to play.

Most casinos won't let the dealer play at their facilities, though.

I can even play, being a surveillance agent at that. I just can't play at our casinos.

Personally, if I was a dealer at a casino, I wouldn't want to play poker games there either. It's not like there aren't other casinos to go to during my free time.
Sometimes there isn't. You can get into the very rural areas where tribal has the only casino and you'd have to drive hundreds of miles to get to another one.

I think online gaming is what people are getting more and more into though.

Especially sports wagering.

I guess the distance might be a problem. But yeah, going online wouldn't be a bad idea after all.

There is nothing wrong with dealers playing casinos as long as they play by the rules. But I have seen foul play when the dealers are involved in games. But I still think it's good to separate work and personal life. This will help maintain professionalism.
