Troyes vs Marseille could be a much closer Ligue 1 game than it might look on paper.
Both teams have had a difficult start. Troyes have lost three league games in a row, while Marseille have surprisingly lost four consecutive Ligue 1 matches after winning their opener.
Marseille still look stronger in terms of squad quality and also have the better recent head-to-head record. They’ve won four of the last five league meetings between these teams, so I’d still give them a slight advantage despite their current form.
I was looking at the Troyes vs Marseille betting odds, and a few markets look interesting for this match:
Amine Gouiri could also be an important player to watch if he is fit enough to start, although his reported thigh issue is something worth checking before kickoff.
My early prediction would be Troyes 1-2 Marseille. Marseille have enough attacking quality to win, but their recent losing run makes it difficult to expect a comfortable result.
A 1-1 draw wouldn’t surprise me either if Troyes can stay organised defensively.
