Many players study strategy but ignore mental leaks like impatience, ego, fear, or revenge punting.

What mental mistake hurts players the most?

The biggest mental leak in poker is letting emotions control decisions. After a bad beat, many players chase losses, force plays, or stop thinking clearly. Tilt doesn’t just lose one hand, it affects every decision after that if you let it.

The biggest mental leak is ego and there is no debate about this. I’ve seen people during online sessions tilt so hard after one bad hand that they start chasing losses. I was guilty once because I have carried my frustration into a game before. It was the worst decision ever. Ego makes you want revenge instead of thinking.
