In poker, a ‘kangaroo’ describes a player who manages to win a particular round having had a poor starting card combination but stills emerged a winner through some sort of chance. Just like kangaroo, the player ‘hops’ to a win. It is an informal term used at the poker table.

I never heard anyone call a player a kangaroo when playing poker. I'd probably laugh if I heard someone say it.
It is also used for players that who moves from table to table or for someone who likes to switch games often.

Hey all. I've been playing mobile poker apps (PPPoker, X-Poker,PokerBros, ClubGG) for a couple of years, mostly in Asian clubs.Built a comparison directory at poker-catalog where I track rakebackrates, club traffic, and agent reliability. Happy to answerquestions about the mobile poker world — it's a niche mosttraditional poker players don't know much about.
