What is the greatest quality of a poker player?

As a poker player, you must posses some qualities and skills which would play a very good role in making it possible for you to win games. Some of the best qualities that I can think of a poker player should have are ; Adaptability, Good Risk Assessment, Confidence, Mental toughness, Discipline, Patience and Self control. Without having these qualities, it's going to be futile playing poker for anyone.

Which qualities do you think is the best and a must for any poker player to have?

Knowing when to fold but also knowing when you can get away with the pot by bluffing which you shouldn't do often but sometimes your able to take the pot if you do.

To make bets early on can help too just because it weeds out players who might receive a good hand on the turn or river.

Discipline and mental toughness are one of the greatest qualities in poker. A poker player should also be able to read the game, manage risk and also control their emotion because that is how they can make a big difference in the game.

I totally agree with @Bawse , patience and discipline is more important that all. No matter how skillful you are, you are bound to lose if you don't have discipline to stick to your bankrolls management.

A poker player must have the adaptability skill because it is crucial and the reason is that he should be able to adjust to different table dynamics and player types and should also adapt to different game conditions as well.

For me, the greatest quality that has helped me play poker and achieved some success over a long time is emotional control. That has really helped me not to make rash moves but be coordinated and calculated with my moves. It has also helped me not to chase losses.
