What makes a winning poker player?

A big key in my opinion is the enjoyment of watching others game play so that means I fold most of the time. So that's in argument of patience but another key thing I've found is that I've never thought of odds at all before the flop. Any 2 cards are just as valuable as any other before the flop. Being able to play anything is particularly favorable to the tournament player.

You can gain valuable information on players that may help in future hands by sitting back for a bit, and watching the action. I still would play strong hands while trying to pickup on tells I can take advantage of. Patience usually pays off.
