Federal banks in various countries actively develop digital currencies leading to a threat against decentralized cryptocurrencies. There is no clear boundary between CBDCs and traditional cryptocurrencies because they might exist separately or one system may gain superiority over the other.
 
I think CBDC is dead, I do not hear about CBDC in the main stream discussion. But a couple of years ago,it was reported that a lot of governments were working on CBDC.

I agree with you. CBDC is dead on arrival. CBDC does not have the unique characteristics of cryptocurrency. Crypto users are mostly who want to have full control over their finance without much government interference! CBDC is owned by government who want to control our finances.
