When did you first learn about cryptocurrency?

As far as I can remember, I learned about cryptocurrency during the mid 2010s. At that time, I never even knew what Bitcoin was. I heard the term "Bitcoin", but I never knew how it worked. I thought that it was a payment processor that only worked in the U.S.

The first time I heard about Bitcoin I thought it was just some strange online payment thing for tech people. Around 2016, one friend kept talking about it and everyone laughed. Now look at how big crypto became. Back then, nobody around me understood wallets or blockchain at all.
