You should stop when you reach loss limit or when you are tired or tilted. When emotions start to come into play, you need discipline.

For me the safest approach is always to set a hard limit on either the number of hands played or the time spent playing.
The truth is that knowing when to quit for the day in poker is very important So it Iis to Play a specific number of hands, Play a Specific time Limit and do not allow results to determine when you quit

Once you reach the number of wins or the number of losses defined by your strategy, you should step away and stop playing poker for the day. Playing just for the sake of playing—for as long as you possibly can—will only lead to more losses; it won’t necessarily result in more wins. That is why you must have a sound strategy and excellent risk management.

I have always told myself that as soon as I start to see my luck slipping, and as soon as I start to see my luck slipping and I am constantly losing, I will stop playing and call it a day.

You do need a lot of willpower, though, to be able to pull yourself back when you know it is time to call it a day.

I think one should stop playing when you notice you're losing focus, getting frustrated or making careless decisions. This might actually help prevent losses.
