In everyday disagreements, proving a point can become more important than solving the problem. Why do you think being right feels so satisfying? Is it confidence, pride, or something else?

I think people care about being right because it can feel tied to their identity, confidence, or sense of competence. Admitting you're wrong can feel uncomfortable, even when it's not a big deal. Sometimes protecting our ego becomes more important than learning something new.

People care a lot of about their self image. They always want to be admired, respected, loved, and perhaps feared. Therefore, they always care about being right.

People like being right because it feeds their ego. Sometimes nobody wants be the first person to say okay you're correct. social media even make it worse because everybody wants to be applauded.
