Michael Carrick has been doing a fantastic job at Manchester United as an intermin manager. There are talks that he is likely going to land the job for the long term. What do you make of that happening, or do you believe he doesn't deserve the role?

I watched his interim matches and he seems to brings calmness and he really understands the club's heartbeat. But I dont think the interim success guarantees his fit for the club

I would not be surprised at all because Manchester United is very good when it comes to making the wrong decisions in a serious matter.

If such results doesn't guarantee him being the permanent manager, who do you think is the right fit to replace him at the end of the season? Which manager should Manchester United go for?

I would not be surprised if Carrick is not given a contract to be the manager of Manchester United beyond his interim tenure at the end of the season. They might want a proven name if available.

He has already been given a permanent role. But I would have been very surprised if he didn't get the role. If they could give Amorim another season after that 15th place finish, it would have been criminal not to give Carrick a permanent role after all he has achieved.

As far as I'm concerned, Manchester United did the right thing by not listening or exploring other option to replace Carrick. It would have destroyed the whole job he did to steady the team.
