Espen Jorstad is proving he’s no one-hit wonder in the poker world. The 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event champion, who took home a massive $10,000,000 payday in the world’s biggest poker tournament, has continued to dominate the scene. Since that career-defining victory, the Norwegian pro has amassed 49 cashes, adding an impressive $7.7 million to his total earnings. This brings his lifetime winnings to nearly $18.6 million, securing his spot as Norway’s all-time money leader—even without his WSOP main event win. His closest competitor, Kayhan Mokri, trails with $7.8 million in total earnings.
Jorstad’s most recent victory came at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague festival, where he triumphed in a €25,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em high roller. Outlasting a field of 34 entries, Jorstad pocketed $294,150 and earned 336 Card Player Player of the Year (POY) points—his second POY-qualified finish of 2024. Although his $2.2 million cash from last month’s Triton Monte Carlo invitational event didn’t count toward the standings, it added to an already remarkable year.
The $855,950 prize pool at EPT Prague was divided among the top seven finishers, with Morten Klein taking home $5,300 for seventh place after a deal among the finalists. The action saw notable eliminations, including Roman Hrabec, who fell in fourth place after his J-8 ran into Jorstad’s pocket aces. Hrabec’s deep run was his 10th final table of the year, adding to a stellar 2024 highlighted by his $4.3 million win in the Triton Jeju main event.
The tournament concluded dramatically with a three-way all-in. Ilya Nikiforov moved in with J-10, Enrico Camosci reshoved with pocket nines, and Jorstad called with A-10. The board ran out Q-8-5-J-A, giving Jorstad top pair and the win. Nikiforov finished third for $131,652, while Camosci claimed $191,542 as the runner-up. This marked Camosci’s 11th final table of the year, propelling him to 18th place in the POY race.
