Have you considered quitting your job to play poker full time?

How good you are in playing poker will determine how much you're going to winning from either playing in tournaments or cash games. Do you consider yourself good enough to the extent of making more money that you'd be considering quitting your job in order to focus on playing poker as a full time job?

No one should quit there job to play poker full time unless they have enough where they don't need to work. For all means if you have enough where you don't need to work then yes you should enjoy your life and possibly play poker full time. You would need at least 10 million dollars in your bank account for that to be a good idea. But hell, all power to you if you have that or more to put your job aside.

If I had to give up my job for something, I would do this, though I would always fear a bad day. I would also only do this if I could afford it and have retirement.

I am unemployed so there is no job to quit. I don't make enough income from poker to pay my bills. Its an extra source of revenue for me. My goal is one day to have enough cash flow from poker or my poker sites to do it full time.

Quitting my day job to play poker would be a bad move as I am not good enough to be able to play to earn a living. Anyone who considers doing this should be sure that it is feasible before they quit their job, I would never advise someone to do this.

There are even no guarantees that you are going to make enough to be able to cover your feeding should you decide to take playing poker quite seriously. So, it is not great to stop working because of that.

Me personally? Naw. Sure, like a lot of guys, I've had day dreams about being a professional gambler. But I've got a good paying, steady, if somewhat boring, day job that I can't see giving up. Particularly so since I'm not all that far away from retirement years. I look at poker, and other casino gambling, as some fun that can bring in a few bucks. I also do a little moonlighting writing that I sometimes find fun, so it is the same vein.

That said, I know a guy who did what we're talking about. I'm not his accountant or something, but he seems to be doing OK for himself. So, hey, maybe it is possible.

I don't think I could play poker full time. It seems like it would get old after a while.

However, "full time" in poker could mean 1 day a month if you win a large enough pot. So, it varies.

There's no way I could do $100 tables and casino hop all day... that would be exhausting.

I guess fulltime could also mean focusing solely on poker as a means of income. That would equally be tiring and exhausting, considering the fact that you can't win everytime. Its a risky business if you ask me.

It's such a gamble. Pun intended, LOL.

You rely on making a living through a gamble. If it doesn't go good for you, you don't make money and then what?

It's hard to make enough and then quit. Am I right? You might blow it all away like that.

That's not in my diary for now. Don't get me wrong, poker is a noble profession and I've seen so many players excel in it. But quitting job for full-time poker requires careful thought.

I think it also required you to be a professional poker player with sponsors and multiple income streams!

I have not thought of quitting yet. I try to better my game and set my expectations. There are good times and bad times but they keep challenging me and I enjoy them, so I keep coming back.

I always wish that I was good enough in poker to consider playing it full time. But I am not in any way close to being that good. I can't quit my job now to play poker because I know I am not that pro to always be assured of winning everyday. I always consider leaving every other hustle to do poker full time but common sense has made me know that it is not possible for now.
