If it’s a freeze out I probably wouldn’t commit in early stages of the game but if you’re dealing with a re-buy or re-entry game go ahead and knock yourself as long as you can afford to get back in . In a freezeout, I typically avoid committing my entire stack in the early stages unless I have the nuts or a very strong read. In rebuy and re-entry tournaments, I think some players are too willing to fire multiple bullets, and it ends up hurting their long-term EV.

I limit the number of rebuys I'll make because I strongly believe that taking breaks during a bad run is important. After several consecutive losses, frustration can build up, and that's when it's easier to make costly mistakes.

There’s more to it than that. If your hand is super strong, you should value bet the most you think your opponent is willing to call. New players often get excited when they make a big hand and just shove.
