The first thing I do is remind myself that poker doesn't owe me anything. That kind of mindset may be harsh, but it helps. Bad beats feel personal when they happen, but they're actually part of the game.

The tables and poker sites will still be there tomorrow. Taking breaks is important, especially when you're tired, frustrated, or not playing your best.

One of the biggest mistakes players make is feeling like they have to keep playing to win back losses or take advantage of every game available. In reality, stepping away and returning with a clear mind often leads to better decisions and better results. Poker runs 24/7, but your A-game doesn't.

Bad beats still frustrate me, but I've learned not to let them control the rest of my session. I remind myself they're part of poker, take a short break if I need one, and focus on whether I made the right decision rather than the outcome.

If I feel myself getting frustrated, I'll step away for a few minutes rather than jump straight into the next hand. I'd rather miss a hand than let emotions affect the rest of my session.

Even though bad beats are parts of poker, most of us become angry and frustrated when we have bad beats. Anger and frustrations are common but these emotions should be temporary and not affect you for a long time.
