Have you considered quitting your job to play poker full time?

Fulltime sounds wonderful because you're doing what you're passionate about. But... It's such a gamble. Pun intended, LOL. You rely on making a living through a gamble. If it doesn't go good for you, you don't make money and then what? It's hard to make enough and then quit. Am I right? You...

    Witnessing a cheat

That's what I am. The eye in the sky. I've seen plenty cheat on that. Mainly post-bet. But I've yet to see it in person while at a game. It's interesting seeing it on camera though. Most of the suspects think they got away but all they would have had to do is look up. Some people think those...

How do you feel about players talking trash while playing poker?

I suppose if it is all in fun and everyone agrees, then it's okay. However, if it's causing drama, it can only result in a toxic game. That could cause arguments and even physical altercations. Then you'll get security involved, maybe gaming commission agents and someone could get trespassed...

    Casino Food

If I went to gamble, all I'd want is the strongest coffee they can give me haha. Just keep me awake and alert!

    Responsible Gambling

It isn't to say that some casinos do a bad job at it, though. I'm sure that's the case. But in most cases, gaming commissions that control their internal controls probably require it and will audit for it. Most bad audits can result in big fines for the house.

Should dealers be allowed to play at casinos when off work?

Sometimes there isn't. You can get into the very rural areas where tribal has the only casino and you'd have to drive hundreds of miles to get to another one. I think online gaming is what people are getting more and more into though. Especially sports wagering.

    Casino Reward Programs

Some of them will add comps just to get you back. Give you a little freeplay and a meal or even a hotel room.

    Howdy folks

Thanks for the welcome, folks! :)

    Card Counting

It is typically only illegal when devices are used. Knowing how to count is just being intelligent. There is no crime in that. But using a device to do it for you is knowingly cheating because something else is being used. Most casinos will cut the deck in half, back you off BJ, or ask to see...

Should dealers be allowed to play at casinos when off work?

I think most probably don't want to, lol. But I don't see why they can't. Many players are at the same level of advanced playing as the dealers, some are even better than them and we of course allow them to play. Most casinos won't let the dealer play at their facilities, though. I can even...

    Witnessing a cheat

Have you ever witnessed someone cheating at a game you were in? Tell us about it. Were they stopped, or did they get away with it?

Have you ever cheated in playing poker?

Just remember, there might be people watching you that you don't even see. Cheating is a good way to get trespassed from the casino. Sometimes, you might even get arrested. And you can't even really justify cheating because you're conning everyone on the table out of their chance to win by...

    Casino Reward Programs

Do you take advantage of casino reward programs? This is where you earn points for play. Many houses will comp you rooms, freeplay, and even meals. Do you use these services at all?

    Casino Food

Before the pandemic, I loved that casinos were big on buffet meals. I love a buffet where you can choose whatever you want. Post-COVID, most of the buffets are gone. :( The casino I work at gives us a free salad bar, soup of the days, and drinks (non-alcohol LOL). It's the same stuff they...

Do you play slots when you go to the casino?

I typically stay away from slots. While you can win, the odds are never really in your favor, lol. However, I'd be content playing penny slots if I just wanted to hang out with friends for a while. I'd bet low and just enjoy the company. Maybe I lose it all but I'm not spending too much in the...

    Card Counting

Card counting is (simple answer) a process where you keep track of low and high cards. It gives you an advantage play in Blackjack. Card counting isn't illegal but it's frowned upon by casinos. Most will do whatever they can to stop you, even if that means kicking you out. If you use...

    Do you play craps?

I play it on Wizard of Odds. Learning it sucked. There is so much going on that I thought I'd never get it. However, I used AI to help teach me each function of it and it all started making sense. Craps is a game you have to keep playing to fully understand. And of course, it's risky. The 7...

How often are you in a casino?

I'm in one 5 days a week, but I work for one, haha. To get better at table games, I often play Wizard of Odds alongside of "watching" the game. I need to learn poker and the carnival games as if I was a pro playing them. I can't gamble on any of our properties but I could if I wanted to on...

    Responsible Gambling

That's not true at all. In the State of Illinois, you can enroll to be state-excluded. This will stop all communications and marketing from casinos in the state. It will also result in an arrest if you are caught trying to gamble. Most states have a similar program for this. Most casinos have...

    Howdy folks

Howdy everyone. Newbie on the forum. I don't gamble, but I work in the casino industry. I'm the eye in the sky. ;) So, I thought it would be good to join and learn more about the games that I am sworn to help protect the integrity of. Thanks for having me!
