Double Board PLO Bomb Pots Online

Will 2025 Be the Year They Debut?

Double Board PLO Bomb Pots have become a global phenomenon at live poker cash games, injecting a dose of chaos and fun into the tables. The format even made its way into the history books with its first-ever WSOP bracelet event in 2024.

As these games gain traction, it feels inevitable that an online operator will bring them to digital poker rooms in 2025. The most likely contender? GGPoker, known for its innovative approach to poker formats. Adding this popular format to online platforms could make the online poker experience even more exciting, catering to players who already love them in live games.

The Rise of Private Online Games

More Exclusive High Stakes Tables Ahead

In late 2024, GGPoker shook the poker world by making some of their high-stakes cash games private, sparking mixed reactions. While pros might balk at the idea, private games are often driven by recreational players who want a less intimidating environment.

This trend mirrors the natural progression of live poker cash games, where private tables cater to high rollers and recreational players. It’s highly likely that more online poker operators will adopt similar models in 2025 to meet the demands of their VIP clientele. While this shift might limit access for some players, it could help maintain a healthy ecosystem for high-stakes action.

A New WSOP Bracelet Series

Expanding Beyond Traditional Stops

Last year, I predicted that WSOP bracelet events would expand to new destinations—and I still believe it’s only a matter of time. Following GGPoker’s acquisition of the WSOP, it seems likely that we’ll see more bracelet events outside the traditional stops in Las Vegas, Europe, and WSOP Paradise.

The January-to-May period is currently devoid of bracelet events, but GGPoker’s ambitious vision will likely fill this gap. Could WSOP bracelets evolve into a global tour, rivaling the likes of the EPT and WPT? If so, 2025 could be a busy year for poker legend Phil Hellmuth and bracelet chasers around the world.

A Major Online Poker Merger

The Industry’s Next Big Shift

GGPoker has dethroned PokerStars as the dominant online poker platform in recent years, solidifying its position further with the WSOP acquisition. In a mature and competitive market like online poker, mergers and acquisitions are often the next step.

In 2025, we might witness two prominent online poker operators joining forces—or one rebranding as a “skin” on another’s platform. Rumors have already circulated about potential deals, making this prediction feel less like speculation and more like a question of when, not if.

The End of EPT Prague?

A New December Stop for the EPT?

Despite record-breaking turnouts for the Main Event and Eureka events, EPT Prague is conspicuously missing from the 2025 European Poker Tour schedule. Rumors suggest that regulatory challenges in the Czech Republic may have made the event unviable.

However, December remains a prime time for a European poker festival, as evidenced by Prague’s consistent success—even when competing with WSOP Paradise and the WPT World Championship. It’s hard to imagine the EPT skipping the December slot entirely. My prediction? A new European destination will emerge to replace Prague, giving players a fresh option to close out the year in style.

2025 promises to be an exciting year for poker, with fresh innovations, potential shake-ups, and new opportunities for players worldwide. Let’s see how these predictions pan out!
