I think players can become mentally stronger over time. In my early years playing poker, I would tilt and struggle to control my emotions. It took time to develop better habits, and that really started with being disciplined in my bankroll management.

What’s your opinion? Can players become mentally tougher with experience?

Mental toughness can definitely be trained. Some people may start with a natural advantage in temperament, but most of it comes from experience, repetition, and learning how to handle pressure.

learning how to handle pressure.
Learning how to handle pressure, as you mentioned, comes from experience. It’s also important to understand how and when to apply pressure effectively. When those situations don’t work out, that’s where discipline becomes crucial, it's vital to long-term success. Playing while frustrated can lead to unnecessary mistakes, so maintaining composure is key.

Some people are born with mental toughness, it comes naturally to them. However, some people, who does not have it by birth, can train their mind and built mental toughness. They can do various kinds of mental exercise to build mental toughness.

Mental toughness is crucial. Over time, I noticed that if I step away from games a little, drink water and reset, I play better. It's just like the muscle, you train it. And experience can build it slowly, but you gats be intentional about it.

I think we are born with mental toughness but I also believe we can be trained to be mentally tough through mental exercises.

While there are people who are born with mental toughness, it can also be trained. Most people have been able to get mental toughness either from what they have experienced or through training.
