Confidence vs. ego: where’s the line in poker?

I think my confidence in my abilities definitely helps me perform well, but I’ll admit it’s also led to developing a bit of an ego.

To me, true confidence means not letting a bad beat or suckout affect your game. If you’re a winning player, one loss or setback is just a small part of the bigger picture.

Do you think some players are overconfident and let their ego get in the way? Thoughts?
 
In poker, confidence comes from knowing your ranges, odds, and when to make disciplined decisions. Ego shows up when you start forcing plays, ignoring evidence, or refusing to fold just to “be right.”
