Do fans overrate finishing ability?

Fans definitely overrate flashy finishes. One knockout and suddenly people start calling you “greatest ever”. Meanwhile the calm technical guys that are winning consistently get ignored because they don't create viral clips. Not every victory must look like action movie trailer before it counts.
 
I think fans often overrate finishing ability. Finishes are exciting and memorable, but consistent winning usually depends on positioning, defense, conditioning, and decision-making.
 
Personally, I don't like fights going to decisions. It's worst when fighters get to hug and wrestle all through 5 rounds. Knockouts strikes a big thunder in the Octagon. It's why I will never see finishing as being overrated.
