You will always hear that the house have an edge in game of poker and gambling generally! In my opinion, i don't think so! If the assertion is true, why is that some poker players always making massive profits in poker games! There are poker players who have made millions of dollars through poker grinding.
I believe the assertion is from people who don't know how and lack the discipline to try their luck on game of poker!

The house always wins by collecting a small rake/fee on all their games. The outcomes don't matter, because the house always wins.

When you win at poker, you're winning money from other players. Not the house.

Now, i understand how the house have edge over players. Well, every business owner deserves to get some profit from their business engagement.

The casinos profit from the rake or fees they charge, as the direct participation in the game goes. This business model guarantees they will make money, irrespective of who wins or loses.

Seems like blackjack may fall into that category but i guess I would agree with you in reference to poker playing.

The house always has an edge and that's just the truth. It is more pronounced in casino games like roulette or slots. The house edge is built in and I don't think it's possible even for skilled players to beat it.

If your playing slots they definitely have an edge but if your playing blackjack or poker, what matters the most is the player but even the best of players have been unlucky at times and being a good player doesn't always mean your going to win.

The poker room doesn't have built in odds that makes the player to stake against the house when they play. The poker room, and even online poker makes money through Rake In. That's a small percentage of each pot in cash games. That's why you win or lose, the poker room or online poker platform makes money.
