Do you think trash talk creates a mental advantage, or does it just give opponents extra motivation?

I think it's all in your abilities and how good you are. You can trash talk all you want but if you can't back it up then it won't do you any good. Your record will speak for itself.

When you look at UFC for example, you can tell most of the trash talking is fake and just a way to drum for ticket sales and PPV buys. Some of the fighting talk seems so corny. Even Conor McGreggor goes overboard to the point its not direct trash talk, it's an entertainment spectacle.

For me, Conor McGreggor is the trash talker in the history of UFC. He backed up so many of them but failed as well in some especially against fighting Khabib and Dustin.

100% trash talk helps boost views before a fight.

Absolutely yes! Without the trash talk and even physical confrontation gives the fight so much hype and also pushes more people to buy the fight tickets and stream online too.

Khabib vs Conor McGreggor fight in the UFC will forever remain the most packed trash talk and physical confrontation fall out before the fight we have seen.

I don't think trash talk is why McGregor lost to Khabib. Conor is one of the few fighters who can back up the trash talk and still perform at an elite level. He's arguably the best on the mic. Khabib may have been more motivated by the build-up to the fight, and that could have played a factor in the outcome, but ultimately, he's an elite wrestler. Conor needed better takedown defense to have a real chance of keeping the fight standing.
