I try to play my hands with confidence and make solid decisions throughout every session. I believe that helps me stay sharp and consistent.

What are some ways you avoid overthinking tough spots or hands?

Generally speaking, I usually try to rely on a simple decision instead of trying to reinvent the wheel mid-hand. I think through position, ranges, and pot odds , then trust my first analysis. When I am tanking too long, it usually means I’m drifting away from fundamentals.

Overthinking is a silent killer for this game. I used to freeze, analyzing for a long time. Now I just simplify it. Sometimes your first instinct is correct. If it fail, you learn and move on. That over-calculation thing can drain your energy very quickly.

I try to simplify decisions by focusing on position, hand strength, and opponent tendencies. I set a time limit so I don’t spiral into overthinking. If I’m unsure, I choose the most consistent, disciplined line instead of chasing complex possibilities.

You can avoid overthinking tough spots by simplifying your decision process.
Instead of running through every possible outcome, focus on a few key factors like your position, the strength of your range, and what your opponent is likely doing.
