How do you balance fun players vs serious grinders?

If the grinders completely take over, the game will eventually become too serious and less attractive. The casual guys are usually the ones bringing the laughter and that's what we need. But I think both groups need each other. The serious players will be there to keep the standards high, while the fun players keep people coming back.
 
In a home game, I'd rather keep the atmosphere friendly than ultra-competitive. Serious players can still play well, but making the game enjoyable for everyone is important
 
I think home games should prioritize recreation, it shouldn't be about money. If you are a serious grinders, you should probably go to casinos or play online.
