How do you balance having time for poker, and still having a social life?

How do you keep a good balance with how much you play poker, and still have a social life outside of poker?

I take breaks whenever I start getting stressed, even if it's only for 15-30 minutes. Small breaks can do a lot for the mental.

I've taken long breaks whenever I'm not in the mood. I think it's crucial to be mentally focused, and in a good mind state to succeed long term.

I don't have to play poker everyday. Trying to play poker this say would be putting too much pressure on myself which isn't needed. I only play poker whenever it's convenient and handle everything else in my life.

This is a matter of descipline. I’ve tried something like that before, and if you have not set limit, poker will take your whole time. You would say “one more game,” next thing hours have past. With everything happening now, stress everywhere, you still need real-life interaction. I had to reduce my play time because I noticed I was getting too isolated.

I don't play every day, and even when I am play I do not play for hours. Even when I am playing for money, I play for a short time as my main intention would be to have fun. Unless you are playing professionally, I do not think playing poker would stop you from having a social life.

Balancing isn't an issue for me..That's because I do not play everyday, and I don't spend many hours playing. Usually I play a few hours once or twice a month.
