Losses are common for new players. Interestingly, even strong players have losing days. The difference between new players and experienced often comes down to knowing when to stop. Do you set a session loss limit or time limit before playing? What rules help you avoid turning a small loss into a disaster?

During a bad session, I try to slow down and stop forcing action. I focus on playing only strong, clear spots and avoid chasing losses. If things aren’t clicking, I take a break ti reset my mindset instead of letting frustration make decisions worse.

Bankroll management is key to minimizing losses, along with planning my tournament schedule and the games I intend to play each day. I also make sure not to overwhelm myself with too much poker, taking regular breaks to stay clear-headed and mentally refreshed.

Knowing when to stop is the real superpower. I learned this the hard way. One bad session can turn to disaster and before you knew it, your small bankroll could melt completely. For me, I set limit before I even start, once I hit it, I bounce, no emotions because that “one more game” is where problems start.
