Having a good playing strategy that you make use of whenever you're playing poker is what will help you to play in a smart way. This guarantees your margin of winning with limited losses. One of the smartest play when playing poker is for you to fold if you're unsure of what to play.

Which other ways do you play poker in a smart way?

Smartest way to play is to only bet when you have a hand but sometimes you have to fold em. You can't always stay just to see the cards. As I said before some people just bet money so they can see the cards and try and get a hand on the turn and river. Really just stay if you have a decent hand.

Play tight, and good hands like @TopSilver mentioned above. Don't chase draws against big bets, and try your best!

BANKROLL MANAGEMENT is key to long term success.

Thank you that's good advice sometimes I get carried away chasing again thank you

To be a smart poker player, you need a solid strategy and discipline. For me, I play smart by setting a budget and sticking to it. I also read my opponents so well to hang them. If you follow these strategies, you are a smart player.

You can only play poker smartly when you have emotional control. It's not all about the skill you garnered. A smart poker player should be able to manage frustration and stay focused. They should also be able to avoid impulsive decisions too.

It's as simple as that. A poker player should be disciplined especially with money while playing. To play smart, you need to have a strategy and stick to it to the end.

Exactly. You could have pocket aces and the flop could give someone a straight/flush. Do you let your emotions get to you to get to you to try and see if you get trips or 4 of a kind or know when to walk?

But, there's also a skill of trying to read people and the bets made to see if they got that winning hand on the flop too.

I don't chase hands with draws unless it's a small pot/bets. When you flop a flush draw it's only a 38.6% chance you hit a flush by the river, and when you have a open ended straight draw there's only a 31.5% chance you make your straight within the next 2 cards(by the river).

When my emotions start to affect how I play, it's time for a break to avoid tilt.

Knowing these types of statistics probably helps you make better decisions.

I'm sure there's a resource out there for it, but you should post that information here.

I'd like to know the statistical outcomes of at least at the flop on which hands are better to play vs. to drop immediately.
