I always thought I was a good player, but until I developed a solid understanding of the math behind poker, I was really just average.

I also didn’t fully embrace bankroll management until recent years, and I believe it’s been a key factor in taking my game to the next level.

What about you? Thoughts?

Becoming a decent player takes longer than people admit. I thought I understood everything early, until real competition exposed the gaps. Then I was thinking about a lost hand I had, I then realized I lacked fundamentals. Improvement started when I accepted that truth. Progress is gradual, not sudden. Once you accept that, learning becomes easier

Everyone thinks they’re good at poker, but the best players are always working to improve. I’ve always had the confidence that I can outplay my opponents, but after years of experience and some study, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of the game, and that’s helped me truly refine my skills.

I am still in learning phase, if I play consistently and listen to experts I might become a decent playmate in 6 months

Well, I am still not a decent player. I keep myself under novice player. That's because I don't play poker too frequently, and I have never tried too hard to perfect my playing skills. I believe if I work hard on my skills, I might become a good player in a couple of months.
