Do you operate more than one bank account? I know some people who operate savings, current and fixed deposit accounts for different purposes. I have savings and fixed account for now. I don't see any need for having a current account yet.
I currently have two bank accounts and one savings account. I have my main bank account where everything gets paid in and out of and then I have a second one which I created when I had to give my bank details to the Child Maintenance Service for my ex. His track record was bad and knowing he would more than likely use those details for purchases, I made sure I had an account available to receive any money but that could not be used for him to abuse.
At those banks, I have 1 account (savings that I just keep open); 2 accounts (savings/savings); 2 accounts (checking/savings); and 4 accounts (2 checking and 2 savings accounts).
If you count credit cards as accounts, I have 4 more. I use my credit cards for all of my spending for cashback rewards (to make $150~/mo more per month) and pay them off at the beginning of the month with my pay period.
Edit: Forgot my foreign banks. In Japan, I have 2 banks with 1 account at one and 2 accounts at the other.
I have about 7 bank accounts. I didn't just open them for fun, I used it for a Point of Sale business. Having multiple bank accounts makes transactions across different banks seamless.
Currently, I have three bank accounts. But two of them are traditional banks while the third one is more of an online bank. When carrying out day-to-day transactions, I use the online bank more often because of low transaction fees and easy to navigate interface.
