Discuss softer live games allowing smaller rolls (e.g., 10–30 buy-ins for live cash) versus tougher online fields needing 50–100+ buy-ins. Compare variance, rake, and session tracking.

I think the biggest difference is variance and volume. When you play online, you play many more hands per hour, so swings come faster. That usually means keeping a slightly bigger bankroll. When you play live, the pace is slower and games are often softer, so variance feels lower. You can sometimes get away with a slightly smaller bankroll.

Live and online are different. Online players are very sharp and you need a bigger bankroll just to survive. Live games are nice but slow, and you can read people there too. I prefer a small online grind but I don't overcommit funds, because one bad streak can wipe you out quickly. Discipline is way more than everything.

I have pretty limited online experience, so most of my understanding comes from general observation. As far I know, online poker usually needs stricter bankroll management because games move faster and variance can hit harder. I play live poker more, it is slow and relaxes, therefore, swings are more gradual even when the stakes are similar.

Life is like a game of poker: it is not about what cards you are dealt, but how you play them.
