Poker Mavens was created by Briggs Softwarks, and a lot of sites use it to host games, some people use it use host home games with their friends.
What do you think about the software? Do you recommend it to anyone?

Obviously there are many better options out there. With anything you get what you pay for. i think dollar for dollar it's more than competetive. the $500 price point means anybody can build theri own site. If you have any type of coding or web building skills you can do quite a bit with it. As we have seen there are quite a few of these out here that are competetive with or even more successful than your 30-50K buillds.

Based on what I heard about Poker Mavens, it's a platform that supports the offer of a very flexible and customizable play-money poker solution, which is probably one of the best options the poker community can have. To add to that, its cross-platform compatibility makes it even more appealing.
