The fight is for the UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship. If Alex Pereira beats Ciryl Gane, he will be the only champ in UFC three divisions.

I haven’t been too impressed with Ciryl Gane in his last few fights, the eye poke against Tom Aspinall, and then getting finished in the first round by Jon Jones. I do think Gane is a good fighter, but he’s on his way out of the UFC if he doesn’t start performing.

Yeah, that eye poke against Tom Aspinal was nasty. It was so deep, I felt he did it on purpose. Tom called him a cheating bastard in one of his videos. Jones is whom I know to fight dirty like that, I was surprised he did that to Tom Aspinal.

The design of UFC gloves makes it harder for fighters to fully close their hands, which can contribute to accidental eye pokes. While I’m not saying the poke was intentional, it does seem like something UFC could improve. Adjusting the glove design could help reduce the risk of future eye pokes and make the sport safer overall.

This fight is going to be very difficult because I don't fully trust Pereira for a heavyweight. He has the power but Gane’s movement will frustrate him for sure. MMA is not just about power punching.

Personally, I don't think Alex Pereira is going to struggle in the heavyweight division because he's naturally built like a heavyweight fighter. He looks so huge for other lower weight classes he used to fight in and I don't think Ciryl Gane is good enough to stop him.
