Being rash and not being careful, mostly. Being green leads to lots of mistakes.

New players typically play too many hands, or cannot get away from top pair. Usually the more experienced players play fewer hands.

What are common mistakes you've noticed by new players when playing poker?
You should almost never fold top pair.

I do like testing out hands and players

So that could be the worst mistake as anyone would say

I think just generally knowing how the game works, especially when everybody is dealer and they have to deal the cards out. It can be difficult working out how a new player thinks.

Another common mistake is bet sizing. This is when your betting amount doesn't make sense in any form. It's either you are betting too small or way too big.

One big mistake that I see almost every newbie poker player make is that they always get hooked on every hand that looks decent to them. They would always call too much on that hand even when the boards show that they are at disadvantage. Another big mistake is that they always show emotions on the table which always leaves them vulnerable.

The most common mistake I see(I see a lot as a poker coach) is a lack of consistent structure. Most players haven't worked enough on their own game, and want to do fancy things straight away.
